About Elephant
Globally there are mainly two extant species of elephants,

But after recent extensive studies and DNA testing, The Asian elephant falls into three distinct subspecies,
1. Elephant living in Sri Lanka,
2. Elephant living in mainland Asia.
3. Elephant living in the island of Sumatra.
